How China Destroyed Globalization
At Davos this week, the US berated Europe for failing to secure a prosperous future for its people. Christine Lagarde walked out on him. Thanks, China.
“Globalization has failed.” This is what US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik told a room full of shocked people during a roundtable discussion this week in Davos, Switzerland during the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF).
Lutnik went on to piss off every European elite with rude comments like: “Workers come first” and “You’re entitled to have borders” and “You shouldn’t offshore your entire industrial base and have it be hollowed out beneath you.”
It takes big cajones to directly criticize the WEF like that during a speech at the WEF. Someone’s not getting invited back in 2027.
You can, and absolutely should, watch Lutnik’s entire 2-minute speech here. (Watch to the end when he mentions China.)
China is actually at the center of all this controversy. For a quarter of a century, communist China has integrated itself into every aspect of global trade and governance, corrupting everything from the WTO to the WHO to the UN Human Rights Council. The CCP is also directly responsible for getting Western countries to hollow out their industrial bases.
Globalization has failed because of China.
Workers in the West have suffered because of outsourcing to China.
National security is compromised because of a dependence on China for things like pharmaceuticals, rare earths, and industrial machinery.
And yet China’s Vice-Premier He Lifeng also spoke at Davos this week, delivering 21 minutes of unironic bulls**t about how we should all hold hands and cooperate. He waxed on about Xj Jinping’s idea that “We should let the ‘torch of multilateralism’ light up humanity’s way forward.”
Yeah, and how’s that been going for humanity?
In theory, multilateralism can work—but only if all the players are on their best behavior and act in good faith. In reality, multilateralism fails if one or more of the major players lies, steals, or cheats on an industrial scale. And we live in that reality where multilateralism has been corrupted.
And yet, far too many elites see the US under Donald Trump as the #1 enemy to the global order. They use that as an excuse to deepen ties with China—even though they had been deepening ties with China long before Trump was elected, and would no doubt continue regardless of US policy.
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves said at Davos that “[The UK] can’t do everything on our own, nor should we try to, because we’ll end up doing nothing well.” Yes, the country that started the Industrial Revolution cannot make things.
French president Emmanuel Macron said, “What we need is more Chinese foreign direct investment in Europe.”
Canadian prime minister Mark Carney boasted about Canada’s “new strategic partnerships with China.”
And while Lutnik was giving a speech about the failure of globalization, European Central Bank president Christine Lagarde straight up walked out.
USA #1.

This Was a Turning Point In the War With China
In this week’s China News Headlines, the UK is letting China build a super embassy in London. OMG this is SO STUPUD!!! At least Trump is trying to stop the UK from doing something else stupid: surrendering a key military outpost in the Indian Ocean. Plus Iranians have something to say about Huawei, and it’s not good.
Canada’s DISASTROUS Deal With China
In last week’s newsletter, I wrote about Canada’s trade deal with China and the New World Order. But 700 words wasn’t enough, so we went DEEP INTO THE RABBIT HOLE and made an entire episode about this.
China’s Economy Just Broke
Mainstream media have—once again—gotten things totally wrong when it comes to China’s economy. They keep trusting the CCP’s “official” data, and worse, they follow the CCP’s narrative. So this episode shows how the Chinese economy is in much worse shape than most people realize.
China Just Keeps On Losing
Let’s talk about Cuba, the last officially communist country in the Western Hemisphere. After the US’s badassery in Venezuela, some people are suggesting Cuba could be next. What would this mean for the CPP’s plans? And for the US’s ability to counter the CCP?

#323 Can China Protect Iran from the US | Grant Newsham
Is the CCP really the “all weather partner” it claims to be for its friends like Iran, Russia, and North Korea? Because it sure wasn’t for Venezuela! Former Marine Intelligence Officer Grant Newsham explains how the CCP is deeply intertwined with Iran’s Islamic Republic, and if Iran’s dictatorship falls, the CCP is in big trouble.

🍯🍯🍯
Solid breakdown of Lutnik's speech context. The bit about industrial hollowing-out realy captures something we've seen in manufacturing hubs I used to work near. What intrigues me is whether the multilateralism framwork itself enables this kind of gaming, or if stricter enforcment could fix it without scrapping cooperation entirely.
